Blue-eyed Grass
Despite its name, Blue-eyed Grass is not a true grass but a delicate member of the Iris family. It grows in small, neat clumps of flattened, sword-like leaves that often go unnoticed until they bloom.
In late spring and early summer, slender stalks rise above the leaves, each topped with a single, star-shaped flower of a striking violet-blue with a brilliant yellow "eye." These charming flowers are fleeting, opening only on sunny days to dot fields and meadows with tiny points of bright color.
