Wolfe Creek Bridge

FOR OUR WILDLIFE AND VEGETATION
SUSTAINING A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT

DISCOVER OUR STORY
COMMITTED TO PROTECTING
OUR HABITAT
This project ended up being a 5-year long emotional rollercoaster. Reaching out to the owners we had low expectations of a purchase agreement due to location and property size. After years of negotiations and a plethora of highs and lows, the result was more than we could have imagined. Click to read a more in-depth account of how everything transpired.

All video
and photography
on this site was captured
using DSLR, cell, and trail cameras. Each photo was taken on site and reflects the diverse habitat. Photos may not be duplicated or used without expressed written
consent.
THE WIDE VARIETY OF PLANTS AND ANIMALS THAT CALL OUR PROPERTY HOME

A PERSONAL PROJECT
BRIDGING THE LAND
Our original land is contiguous with this property, but was separated by a marshy wetland and stream. To preserve the integrity of the surroundings and allow access to the property, a natural bridge was built to span the wetlands. Great care was taken to use natural materials and minimal impact to the environment. The result was a beautiful white oak bridge that will last for years to come. Follow the link below for a picture story of the build.

PIGNUT HICKORY
A COUNTY CHAMPION
One of many surprises we were blessed with discovering was a County Champion Pig Nut Hickory. Measuring more than 10-feet in circumference and over 100-feet tall, this tree is a site to behold. Read more in the link below about this tree and how it measures up to some others in the state of Maryland.

Invasive Removal
WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON

An ongoing project to remove invasive species brought in by years of illegal dumping.
Oaks, maples, and a few other natives will be planted this fall.
Stream banks and beds will be restored to allow fish and aquatic life to thrive.
